The "dunker" had four beakers for the aluminum to be treated in, a deoxidizing solution, and anodizing solution, a purple dye, and a finishing solution with distilled water between each to rinse the metal avoiding cross contamination. The dunker could treat 4 key chains at a time as it rotated with a stepper motor controlled by an Arduino. The dunker was actuated up and down into the solutions using a pneumatic cylinder actuated by a pneumatic solenoid, controlled by the computer system.
